Planning for a new kitchen in the new year? There’s plenty of colours, finishes, materials, and styles poised to be big. Take a look at what’s cooking in kitchen design for 2024.
Butter yellow
Somewhere between yellow and cream is a ‘butter yellow’ shade, which is making inroads in kitchen design. This soft shade of yellow is dairy-inspired and looks fabulous in both contemporary and traditional kitchens. Couple butter yellow with rich earthy colours, and you’ll have a kitchen that is crying out to be ‘Instagrammed’ in the new year.
Textured tiles
Textured tiles will make an impact next year. Glossy textured tiles above worktops, on the floor, or anywhere in a kitchen, are guaranteed to bring the wow factor to any style or size of kitchen. What’s more, textured tiles are easy to clean and maintain, making them the perfect choice for well-worked living spaces likes kitchens.
Smarter storage
2024 will be about getting smarter with storage in a kitchen. From walk-in pantries to appliance garages, whereby worktop appliances like toasters, coffee makers, and blenders, are concealed but are easily accessible and organised, will be big next year. As will built in cabinetry and customisable dividers, anything that creates a more practical and of course stylish solution to kitchen storage.
Wood flooring
Natural oak wood kitchen flooring oozes a timeless, light and sophisticated look, making a room feel open, bright and airy. As such, wood flooring is poised to be another big kitchen design trend in 2024. Unlike ‘heavier’ types of flooring, such as tiles, wood flooring can be coupled with virtually all other colour schemes and materials, to really bring a kitchen to life.
Statement range hoods
Ensure your kitchen radiates style and panache in 2024 by installing a statement range hood. These increasingly popular kitchen features come in unique and striking materials, like mixed metals, stainless steel, and even wood. They will add a distinct, custom touch to a kitchen of any style.
Stone islands
Stone islands are also being dubbed as a ‘must have’ kitchen design feature in 2024. Being dramatically dark and littered with veins swirls, stone islands are certainly an eye-catching feature in a kitchen. This natural material is also hard-wearing and easy to maintain, making it a great option for kitchens.
