Longniddry show home shortlisted for two awards in the British Homes Awards 2021 and Scottish Home Awards 2021 Designed by New ID Living
Places for People is pleased to announce that its Laurie Show Home in Longniddry Village has been shortlisted at this year’s British Homes Awards 2021 and the Scottish Home Awards 2021. Our show home is a finalist in the ‘Best Interior Design: Development’ category.
The four-bedroom detached ‘Laurie’ – the first show home of its type in Scotland – offers a window onto modern country living at Places for People’s exclusive Longniddry Village development in East Lothian, where customers can choose from a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes.
The impressive double-fronted house provides the ultimate wow factor, with one of the highlights being the magnificent open plan kitchen, dining and garden room which spans the depth of the home – the perfect space for flexible living and entertaining.
Period features, including tapestry wallpaper and wood panelling, have been incorporated throughout the show home, which was thoughtfully designed by New ID Living based a London based interior design company, the overall look is soft and calm using a palette of corals and blues throughout the home.
There is also a strong link to the local area with various accessories, artwork and dried foliage wreaths all coming from local businesses.
Kiran Bhatia was the inspiration behind the show home interior at Longniddry said
“We wanted to create a modern yet cosy style throughout the show home and have used a lot of wooden furniture which provides warmth, whilst the styling of the furniture is simple.
One of the highlights of this home is the magnificent open plan kitchen, dining and garden room which spans the depth of the home. The kitchen is fitted to a high specification with a range of vibrant coloured shaker style units and integrated appliances, and we have sourced some ‘wow’ features into the design to complement the beautiful units that also created the perfect entertaining space with a large dining table that seats eight people and perfectly complements the room.
In the lounge, there is a super-size comfy sofa upholstered in a gorgeous coral velvet, and we also sourced a hand-made bench to elegantly display the wooden logs for the log-burner.”
